Located adjacent to Pioneer Park, the KHR Railway Park is well situated to serve those living in and around Kamloops as well as visitors from around the world. The KHR is undergoing significant changes, as outlined in its
Strategic Plan, intended to elevate the stature of the Railway Park in exciting new ways.
To assist in guiding the organization through the exciting changes, KHRS is seeking new Board Members. We are looking for people who want to make a significant contribution to Kamloops with governance experience and who are committed to making a difference. We have special interest in those who are skilled in governance, fundraising, community/network development and building volunteer and/or membership programs. While the work of the Board may be difficult at times, it is truly a rewarding experience.
The KHR Board is an exciting and engaged working board. Board members are required to participate in a minimum of 12 Board meetings per year, held on the 3rd Thursday of each month (Participation in these meetings may be in person or online using zoom or Microsoft teams), one annual general meeting meeting and all meetings of any standing or special committee they may be involved with.
Board members are expected to be timely and present at every meeting with a maximum of three absences from board meetings in any given year. Between work within and outside of meetings, hours of commitment would probably vary between 5 to 7 hours minimum per month. Board members are also encouraged to participate in fundraising and development activities, which include an annual gift to KHR that is personally significant and meaningful. Board members are expected to commit to the role for a minimum of two years.
